Three must haves for mummies

I know, I know I’m all about the handy baby gadgets at the moment for me and baby Lottie so check out my top 3 gadgets for mums with buggies who will know exactly what I’m talking about when they feast their eyes on these three must haves.

Hands Free Brolly

When you’re out walking with the buggy and it starts to rain, believe me it is NOT easy to carry on pushing whilst struggling with a brolly! Well, the clever peeps at the hands free brolly company have come up with a wizzy solution to exactly this problem – the hands free brolly!  The umbrella handle has been cleverly designed to slot into a detachable clamp.  The clamp fixes on to a pram or buggy leaving both hands free to wheel away keeping nice and dry at the same time. It’s so easy to attach and just fab to use – perfect for me too as I love walking in the rain!

Hamster Bags

The Hamster buggy bags clip easily on and off the sides of your buggy. Each Hamster holds the volume of a full plastic shopping bag and is much much stronger. The buggy bags redistribute additional weight so that the buggy does not fall backwards when you child is not in it. Although the bags can carry heavy items, the weight should not exceed the maximum stated by your buggy’s manufacturer.

Mummy Mitts

I love my mummy mitts, they are just SO practical and look good too. They attach to the handle bar or handles of any pram or pushchair, allowing you the convenience of removing your hands whilst the mittens remain attached. If you need to answer your mobile whilst pushing the buggy no need to struggle anymore trying to get your glove off ! They are an absolute must for every parent or even better a fab pressie for a new mum.

Baby Chic: Yoomi self warming baby bottle

Having  just had my first babygeekchic I am loving this Yoomi self warming baby bottle. At the touch of a button it warms baby’s feed to the natural temperature of breast milk in just 60 seconds. And trust me when your baby is hungry and if the milk needs warming quickly this is a god send! Great for feeds in the middle of the night too so you’re not having to faff around with bottles and warmers which sometimes seems like it takes forever to warm up. You simply charge the warmer, push the button and then wait 60 seconds for it to be ready. Perfect!

Baby safe monitor for iPhone loving parents

If you have a baba and an iPhone then this fab ‘app’ is definitely worth a try.

No need to buy separate equipment to monitor your baby whilst they’re sleeping as this application turns your IPhone into a baby monitor, sending both video and audio direct to your phone wherever you may be.

There are no worries about range, like with a regular baby monitor, as it is all digital, so if you’ve managed to get a babysitter and you’re out and about you can still see and hear everything your little darling is doing or you could maybe have a glass of wine and try and relax?!

The only extra equipment you need is a camera so you could use your own or if not the Apple store has one to offer which is small, mobile and wireless.

The Baby Safe Monitor app is comparable to premium baby monitors on the market but is a third of the price. It is available from the Apple ITunes Store for £22.99.

Baby Geek: useful gadget for your newborn

Baby Brain to the rescue

I remember when my sis had a baby, there were lists everywhere of feeds and times and naps and sleeps and feeds again and back to times, in fact pretty much everything baby related, and she was so tired that I actually think her brain had turned to mush!

Bring in the Baby Brain iPhone app. It basically keeps a log on your iPhone and tracks things such as feeds, nappies and sleep (no, not yours unfortunately), putting your mind at rest as a new mum and also saving you the hassle of scribbling everything down on bits of paper which end up scattered around the house!

It’s a brilliant idea and so easy to use. It answers your questions at the touch of a screen, so if you’re wondering when was the last feed or how much sleep is he/she getting each day or are they eating enough, it has all the information in one convenient place because let’s face it we’re never without our iPhones now are we!
