USB Scan Toaster

The Scan Toaster can “print” news, weather, and pictures on to bread, and was developed by Sung Bae Chang of Sejong University in South Korea, one of the nine finalists of this year’s DesignLab competition.

The concept is fairly simple. Plug in the toaster to a free USB port, put the bread in, and the software does the rest, how cool (or hot as the case maybe).

You could have loads of fun with this – depending on your photo collection. How much will this set you back? At the moment, no prices have “popped up” yet. HaHa.

KODAK Zi6 Pocket Video Camera

This cute looking camcorder is compact and lightweight making it ultraportable so good for parties or on a night out. There is no lens cap, no dials or settings to set making it so simple and easy to use; you just turn it on and hit record! The videos are also recorded in HD which is something the Flip Mino one of its rivals can’t do.

It has a 2.4″ colour LCD screen  on the front and controls to record video or take still pictures. It also has a handy USB connector on the side for easy upload to your computer.  Kodak provides all the cables for the relevant inputs (AV and HD) which is a nice touch –  I for one hate going to buy cables!!

Available on line in pink or black for around £130.00, this sleek pocketable design is built for easy video.

  • 2.5 x 4.5 x 0.9″
  • Easy upload to YouTube with built in UBS
  • HD videos
  • Rechargeable batteries and charger included
  • Records hours of video 32GB worth

This 2-in-1 USB gadget helps keep you cool if you’re feelin the heat at work and you get a magic light show at the same time. It comes with a flexible, fully adjustable neck and is totally USB powered so no need for an AC outlet.

Available on line for around £5, bit gimmicky but may help zap office boredom.

Issey Miyake + Dyson = limited edition dust buster

I know I know hooverin’ up is boring, but how on earth did this coupling come about? I mean who would’ve thought Issey M would want to make a designer hoover, seems quite random to me. Still, looks fairly nice and I suppose if the extent of your “fashonista-ism” (is that a word?!)  extends to household appliances then this will be the one for you.

It looks much better than your average dust buster (I think they always look like ant-eaters) and it features Dyson’s root clone technology.  If you are interested in this designer dustette then it will set you back around £75 which I suppose isn’t that much for a Dyson/Miyake combo.

ApplePod iShuffle Cozy

I think this is really quite cute, it reminds me a bit of the gay pride flag. It’s good too how it still allows you to use the shuffle clip, not sure I’d walk round with an apple clipped to my coat tho?!

Available on line for around £6.
