My gadget of the week on Talk Radio Europe: eco charger

The Carphone Warehouse have introduced an energy efficient mobile phone charger known as the “Eco Charger” which shuts itself down as soon as the battery in your phone is fully charged.

According to Carphone Warehouse if everyone used one, it could save the UK approximately 217 million kWh of electricity per year, equivalent to the yearly electricity usage of around 66,000 homes.

It retails at £22.99, and is compatible with certain Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung handsets. The new charger will be available at Carphone Warehouse from 3 March 2009.

A New Mouse for Women!

After years of research, scientists have discovered that women do not like the standard mouse you use with your PC.  Scientists found that there is not a physical reason for their aversion, it is more of a psychological problem. Some women reported that their mouse ‘just didn’t feel right’ in their hands.

Based on research, a new mouse has been designed especially for women. Various field tests have been carried out on the new design:

Julie
from Manchester said:-

‘It feels so much better. More comfortable, more like how it’s supposed to be’

Susan
from Ashton added:-

‘I think mice were originally designed just for men, but this new type is definitely made for women. It fits right in with my lifestyle’

Sarah
from Birmigham :said -

‘I took to it like a duck to water, every woman should have one’!

 Wait for it…..

Girl Geek Top Tip: Don’t reply to unsolicited email aka SPAM

By responding to spam email you only confirm that your email address is active - no no no not good!

Another thing you shouldn’t do is click the “remove me” link in the message. Links in email can point to an IP address other than the one you think it references.

The best thing you can do is delete the message. Many free email service providers will allow you to easily report it as spam if you received it through MSN hotmail, Yahoo!, AOL or GMail.

My gadget of the week on Talk Radio Europe – BagTV

I love handbags so this fashion/tech handbag combo really caught my eye.  BagTV combines luxury handbags and high tech equipment to create a new concept in handbag design. Is this really going to be the latest must have fashion accessory? I’m not sure, it just makes it seem more nickable to me!

They come in a range of colours and fabrics and have a TV screen, DVD and Mpeg player integrated into the handbag design itself. It also has a USB and SD slot allowing connectivity to digital cameras and computers, so you could have a slideshow of your photos if you really wanted to – not sure why you want to do that on your handbag though.

You can play up to 2.5hours of movies on there before recharging with the mains or car charger. It definitely is a fashion statement and probably quite useful for busy mums who need to stick their kids in front of a movie when they are out an about.

It retails at around £199, for more details check out www.bagtv.com.

What do you think, love it or leave it ?
