New ‘Tom Tom’ sat nav for girls: White Pearl

Based on the TomTom ONE IQ RoutesTM edition*, the White Pearl is the latest offering from Tom Tom and is definitely aimed at the female market. It looks sleek and stylish with its chic pearlescent finish, swirl pattern and matching EasyPort folding mount. And when your’re not using it, you can pop it into its silk, drawstring bag to keep it protected from the depths of your hand bag!!

It also includes some brand new features such as, ‘Places to be seen’ and ‘Shop ‘til you drop’. Covering everything from restaurants, bars, cafes, coffee shops, cinemas and theatres to fashion and home furnishing stores.

One thing that I really like is the Help Me! safety feature, including emergency phone numbers and a ‘Where Am I?’ function particularly useful if you break down and are lost!!

The TomTom White Pearl will be available in June 2009 from www.Amazon.co.uk. The suggested retail price is £179.99. For more information, please visit: www.tomtom.com

Baby Geek Gadgets

 Leapfrog text and learn

You can now give your baby geek his/her own PDA instead of letting them slobber on yours or accidentally send messages to someone random in your address book. This ‘baby blackberry’ is not a networked device so they won’t be communicating with anyone, it has games that focus on spelling and basic computer skills, bit like an updated version of speak and spell from back in the day. It’s suitable for ages 3 and up.

Tranquil moments sounds for baby

This provides relaxing lullaby music in 30, 60, or 90-minute intervals, the sounds include: Prenatal, Lullaby, Dolphins, Car Ride, Heartbeat, or White Noise. Sleep Enhancement Technology gradually slows down the program and decreases volume to as your child (or yourself) goes to sleep.

iPhone app baby rattle

This clever litttle app uses the iPhone’s accelerometer to make sound when tilted, inverted, and rattled just in case your out and about and have forgotten to bring something for baby geek to play with ( you would never forget your phone!)

Colorful display responds to baby’s fingers and it has arious tempos and rhythms. Available in the app store for free.
