Badoo

Android/iOS – Free

This is currently one of the most popular apps on any mobile platform. It’s a social network focused on meeting new people and thanks to the rapidly expanding number of users it’ll be easy for you to find someone wherever you are. Not only great for dating it’s also ideal if you’ve just moved to a new area and want to find some new friends or interests.

Tinder

iOS – Free

This clever iOS app tries to help with the awkwardness of a first date by helping you to find someone who you might have a better connection with by using your Facebook location, friends and interests. Once you’ve found a match you can ‘Like’ them through the app, and if they respond in kind you can take things further from there.
