USB

Ladybird multifunctional USB device

Check out this little Ladybug, it has a memory card reader, flash drive, USB charger, an LED flashlight and a counterfeit UV money detector.

Quite a random collection of utilities but it I think it’s fab. It has up to 4GB of storage in flash card mode.  It can’t fly though, boo hoo.

Have a look at www.sourcingmap.com for more details.

Retro webcam is glam

Now I think this is just so funny. Given how we are always wanting the latest in technology I think adding a bit of retro glamour to your workspace is actually quite refreshing. Ok, so it requires a usb port so not that *retro* but  it’s got a decent quality lens, 24 bit RGB colour and a built in microphone so will actually do the job ok. Luvin the classic tripod too.

For all you snowboard chicks out there

I love all things snowboarding, in fact I want to go right now, and I especially like gear by Burton so I think these snowboard usb flash drives are just fab!

Burton have teamed up with ACP-EP memory to produce these funky 2gb mini snowboard memory sticks, very cute.

They come in a variety of colours, I like the feelgood model (the one on the left) and they are available online. Woohoo!

Flip Video Extra making video more fun

How much do I want one of these babies! It has to be the simplest camcorder ever - no tapes, no cables and it looks cute too. You just point and shoot then plug the USB arm into your computer to upload your digital video - sounds easy peasy. It’s even small enough to fit in your handbag on a night out, oh what fun to be had - although do we want our naughtiness to be captured on video?!

It’s got 2GB of memory which isn’t bad and 60 minutes of recording time  and comes in a variety of colours. It even has direct upload to YouTube, MySpace and AOL which is pretty handy.

Now available online and in stores, including PCWorld and Amazon and will only set you back £99.99.

Portable Solar Charger Perfect for Festivals

Running out of battery on my phone, iPod or Tom Tom is really annoying whether at home or abroad, but now help is at hand.

With green being the new black the new freeloader portable solar charger means you can power your gadgets without plugging them in so you can tick the box of helping the planet!!

How does it work? well, open up this slim device ,point it at the sun and within around 5-10 hours you have a fully charged device that can power an iPod for up to 18 hours, a PSP for up to 2.5 hours and a mobile phone for up to 44 hours! (neat!)

But I hear you say what with the great British Summer how will I ever charge it. Well don’t worry you can also charge it via a USB cable which will take 3-4 hours.

Once charged the battery will then hold its charge for up to 3 months. Tough, stylish and impact resistant this little thing is also very compact, only 12 cm long, 6 wide 1.5 deep plus it comes with adaptors to charge the following gizmos:

  • LG Chocolate series phones,
  • 2 adaptors for Nokia mobiles,
  • 2 adaptors for Samsung mobiles,
  • Sony Ericsson mobiles;
  • 4mm straight jack plug for PSP, Tom Tom sat nav, digital cameras etc;
  • Mini USB adaptor for Motorola RAZR, Blackberrys etc;
  • a USB 2.0 female socket for MP3 players and PDA’s;
  • an iPod adaptor;
  • an adaptor for Nintendo DS Lite.

If you want in pink then no problem but I think I prefer the grey and it costs around £29.99.
