The Basics
What is HD TV ?
- HD (High Definition) TV is a digital television system that introduces great quality and resolution. This means very crisp, clear pictures with bright colours and up to five times more detail that standard definition TV.
Do I need a different TV?
- You will need a TV that is HD ‘ready’. When you buy it make sure it is clearly marked HD ‘ready’. This won’t turn a standard definition programme into HD. You will only get the full detail of an HD image if the programme is broadcast in HD.
